Aldar Properties has agreed to buy nine residential buildings in Aljada, Arada's master community in Sharjah, for AED 1.1 billion. It is Aldar's first real estate investment in Sharjah.
The forward purchase covers three residential blocks with more than 1,100 homes, which Arada will deliver in the fourth quarter of 2029. Aldar will hold them as rental homes for end users and long-term tenants.

"This investment is closely aligned with our develop-to-hold strategy, adding scale to our residential for rent portfolio," said Talal Al Dhiyebi, group chief executive of Aldar.
Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, group chief executive of Arada, called the deal a "strong vote of confidence" in Aljada. It follows the AED 15 billion partnership the two developers announced in September.
02Aljada today
Aljada covers 2.2 million square metres near Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Al Dhaid Road, about seven minutes from Sharjah International Airport. Arada plans about 25,000 homes there and has delivered more than 8,800 since handovers began in 2021.
The community has the Madar entertainment district, two international schools, two hotels, student housing and more than 300,000 sq ft of occupied retail space.
03What it means if you are buying
An institutional landlord is a signal for rents. Aldar buying 1,100 homes to rent out shows confidence in tenant demand in Aljada, which matters if you are buying there to let. See the projects selling now in the Aljada area guide.
More rental stock arrives in 2029. Over 1,100 professionally managed homes will add to Aljada's rental supply at delivery, so compare handover dates when you choose a building.
Arada keeps selling in Aljada. Current releases are on the Arada developer page.
