03What it means if you are buying
Sharjah is a lower-priced alternative to Dubai for a home to live in. One-bedroom apartments in Aljada start under AED 1 million, with small down payments and most of the price due on handover.
Check who can buy. Ownership rules for foreign buyers differ from Dubai's and vary by project. Our guide, Can foreigners buy property in the UAE?, explains the rules by emirate.
Rents have been rising too. See Sharjah rents rise across key communities.
