Etihad Rail opens Dubai station at Jumeirah Golf Estates: Abu Dhabi in about an hour

Passenger trains between Dubai's Al Yalayis Station and Abu Dhabi's Mohamed Bin Zayed City began on 30 September 2026, with five daily services and fares from AED 39.

Etihad Rail's passenger service reached Dubai on 30 September 2026. The first train left Al Yalayis Station at 6.14am and arrived at Mohamed Bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi at 7.18am, a journey of just over an hour. Al Yalayis is Dubai's first Etihad Rail station and sits in Jumeirah Golf Estates. The Al Dhaid station in Sharjah opened on the same day as part of the network's second phase.

  • Route: Al Yalayis Station (Dubai) to Mohamed Bin Zayed City (Abu Dhabi).
  • Journey time: just over one hour.
  • Frequency: five trains a day at launch.
  • Fares: Comfort class from AED 39, with a Premium class also on sale.
  • Parking at Al Yalayis: AED 5 an hour, AED 30 for five hours or more.

02What comes next

Etihad Rail is opening its passenger network in phases. After Abu Dhabi and Fujairah in June and Dubai and Al Dhaid now, the published schedule adds the Al Dhafra stations on 30 December 2026 and Sharjah station on 30 March 2027, as reported by the Emirates News Agency.

Al Yalayis puts a national rail station inside Jumeirah Golf Estates, a master community of villas and golf courses on Dubai's southern edge.
