Dubai's Rental Disputes Centre settled 2,350 cases by agreement between January and September 2026. Each took six days on average, and together they were worth AED 401 million.
01The figures
| Period | January to September 2026 |
| Cases settled by agreement | 2,350 |
| Combined value | AED 401 million |
| Average time to settle | 6 days |
02How a settlement works
The centre's Conciliation and Settlement Department brings the landlord and tenant together to find terms both accept. This runs separately from a formal case that goes to a ruling.
When the two sides agree, the supervising judge approves the settlement. It can then be enforced like a judgment.
Judge Abdulqader Mousa Mohammed, the centre's chairman, said the results show rental disputes can be closed quickly and effectively.
03What the six days covers
The average applies to cases that ended in agreement. It does not cover disputes that went on to a full hearing and ruling, which take longer.
04Why it matters if you are buying to let
A rental property is only as good as your ability to collect rent and recover the home when a tenancy goes wrong. A dispute system that closes agreed cases in days lowers that risk for landlords and tenants alike.
It is one of the things to weigh alongside yield. See the best areas in Dubai for rental yield and off-plan projects for rental income.
